The Moon Lily is a short story set in the world of SPHINX, an older project I hope to one day return to. Employing both fantasy and romance, The Moon Lily captures several themes I enjoy writing around.
I spent several years working on SPHINX, my first book project, before finally shelving it. I was deeply disappointed in myself and worried that, maybe, this writing thing wasn’t such a good idea. In the back of my head, another idea – The Wildlands – had been bothering me and I was afraid to pursue it for fear of just starting over again.
The Moon Lily holds a special place in my heart for many reasons. I read it every few months to remind myself of SPHINX. Fun fact: the unusual words around the website (and in my books) like Miela er Fen are sphinxian. Maybe someday everyone will learn what they mean?
